Beautiful patterns, clearly designed
Have you ever looked at a knitwear pattern and thought I'd love to make that but I don't know if I could knit it? Here at Quirky Hand Knits I create knitwear patterns with the adventurous beginner in mind. All of my patterns have clear written and charted instructions, with links to video tutorials to help with tricky stitches. More advanced knitters will find them challenging enough to hold their interest. All of the stitch tutorials can be found in the Tutorials section of this website.
All patterns are professionally tech edited and test knitted before publication.
Patterns are published on Ravelry and loveknitting.com. Clicking on the images below will take you to my Ravelry store where you can find out more about the design and purchase.
Taking inspiration from Finn’s jacket, these socks feature a simple but effective textured pattern. The texture is worked all over the leg, down the short row heel, and over the top of the foot on to the toe. A nod to Finn’s stormtrooper origins is given in the cabled motif on the outside of each sock.
The pattern includes instructions for three sizes, so you can find the perfect fit.
This pattern was created in collaboration with Third Vault Yarns, for the May 2017 YarniTea club.
Heart to Heart Socks
Gorgeous socks knitted using a cuff down construction, a holeless short row heel and a wedge shaped toe. The heart motif finishes them beautifully. The pattern is adaptable so you can include as many or as few hearts as you would like. Have a simple row of hearts around the ankle, or continue them all the way down the foot ending with a central heart on the toe.
Lines and Squares
Simply constructed, these socks feature a square and line design. The design starts just under the cuff, and then continues along the top of the foot. Perfect for colour or gradient sets, each set of squares is knitted in one colour before moving on to the next. This pattern also features a holeless short row heel and a wedge shaped toe.
This design was inspired by AA Milne’s poem ‘Lines and Squares’
This beautiful triangular shaped shawl has diamonds cascading from throughout. Starting with small diamonds, the lace pattern builds to diamonds within diamonds, before finishing with large diamonds and a lace edge. With full written and charted instructions this pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners as well as more experienced knitters. Just one skein of 4ply yarn is needed to create this beautiful addition to your summer wardrobe.
